Why neural-style is not a photo filter

General / 24 April 2021

Neural-style has been presented as a new method for artistic style transfer.

However, it is more than that. It is a deep learning approach that can be used to create visually compelling images that have a strong artistic style.

Neural-style is not a photo filter, and it could not be used as a photo filter because this would change the meaning of the process.

The pictures created with it are not trying to imitate any other style or previous image, they are trying to create a new style and a new story. They are generated by a neural network that learns how to create a new content based on a given style.

The neural network does not take an input image and filter it to create another image. The neural network takes an input image and learns to create a new one based on the input image. The neural network learns to generate a new image from scratch, not from the elements of the input image.

Using A.I Image Enhancing with Neural-Style

Tutorial / 14 January 2021

There is a secret to high quality outputs and its A.I Base enlarging with either Let's Enhance or Topaz A.I. (Topaz A.I is really good, just need a decent GPU for fast processing)

Take a peek under the hood to see what makes these results so stunning, and its linked to the style image containing the right resolutions and that is 7200px, my max default is 7500px. You also lose a bit of resolution when combining multiple styles and you can push higher resolutions when using less styles or only one.

The Folder with the 5 styles is called "X28E" I try to use a systematic approach, but eventually its just extending to new names like X28D,X28E,X28F...etc when trying new styles or similar styles.

For best results its good to match the same resolution as the final output, anything higher is good, like 10000px or 19000px.

I use google for processing, it helps keep it on the cloud and on my personal drive.

This is how it forms.

A1 Generation - 512px

A3 Generation - 1024px

A5 Generation - 1400px

A8-Final Generation - 7200px

Feel free to experiment with different fractals, images or photographs, there is no limit to what you can use, some of the most amazing results come from trying new things you would least expect to provide good results, and like always the community is always open to sharing ideas about how good results are produced.

Neural-style with Fractal Generators

News / 02 January 2021

I cannot thank Reddit user ProGamerGov enough for creating the neural-style-pt script for google Colab, it has helped me push Neural-style to new boundaries like never before as also being a more entry level way of utilizing a 16GB Tesla V100.

Recent discovery on Neural-Style

I discovered that the best quality way of creating content apart from google image snatching, is using Jwildfire (Sold on steam or The Official Jwildfire Blog) for fractal generation, there is of course Chaotica and Apophysis, but I found that generally its best to experiment with what google offers instead, its more on the professional side of things.

Part of generation is using key's that work, this is naturally soft on the eyes, so its a great candidate to try. anything that makes you uneasy or bad vibes usually means its a bad key. (unless your going for that effect)

This one had a Japanese vibe when I first witnessed it on Jwildfire, had to process it up to 3500px and A.I Upscale it with Topaz Gigapixel AI to 7500px for its final form.
